10 More Reasons Why Social Media Won’t Replace Email
By Janine Popick 6 comments
The Wall Street Journal Recently published the story, Why Email No Longer Rules. The writer, Jessica E. Vascellaro, talks a lot about the increasing number of people jumping on the social media bandwagon, and how that could have a negative effect on the way people use email today. Are people jumping on the social media bandwagon? You betcha! And why not? It’s free, easy to use, and you can communicate to the masses. But are they using email less?

More Social Media Use Means More Email Use
By Chris Crum
Nielsen set out to prove that social media use put a significant dent into email use, assuming that the more time people spent on social networks, the less time they were likely to spend using email. It didn’t quite work out that way in the firm’s experiment however. Nielsen explains its methodology:

It is an interesting time for email marketing right now. Though it is still a quite effective medium for marketers, there are many challenges to deal with. This was the subject of a session moderated by David Daniels of Forrester Research at the Shop.org summit in Las Vegas this week.

Only leaders make money in networking”.

Filed Under: General Information    by: Web Admin

It’s Time To Kill Your “Inner Beta” John.

There’s one simple truth that needs to be internalized and accepted by anyone who enters this business as quickly as possible…
“Only leaders make money in networking”.
Sure, you can make a few $100/mo retailing products, but if you’re not a leader, you’re not going to make any kind of significant full-time income.
This truth is defined by the very nature of a “multi-level” compensation model.
You don’t make money in this business, unless you lead a group of customers and distributors under you.
I learned this lesson the hard way…
At first, I tried to side-step the truth, and get around it with tools and gimmicks.
I jumped from opportunity to opportunity, and from marketing tool, to marketing tool, thinking that they would allow me to cheat the system and make money without facing my fears.
5 years of failure later, I finally gave into the truth…
That only leaders make money in this industry, and that if I was going to build a business, I’d have to change who I was as a person, and become one.
My days as an excuse-making wuss who was afraid of people, of the phone, and of success, would have to end. It was time to kill the “beta” inside, that had been holding me back from achieving what I really wanted my entire life.
I said good-bye to him on a prospecting call one night, when I finally decided to take control of the conversation and be a leader to the prospect on the other end of the line.
From that moment on, everything changed in my life.
The life-long frustrations I’d suffered about money, about success, about dating, and friendships disappeared.
It was like being freed from a self-imposed prison of mediocrity and suffering.
And from that moment forward, I was left with nothing more than a sense of inner peace and confidence… The kind of confidence that comes when you finally realize that you’re 100% in control of your world, your reality, and what happens in it.
The kind of confidence that inspires those around you, and garners their respect.
The kind of confidence that other people find irresistible… Or even “magnetic”.
The kind of confidence that instantly communicates to everyone that you’re a leader… You’re an Alpha.
And with that transformation, came a new reality that most people only dream of, filled with incredible people, experiences, income, and a chance to change the world for the better.
Over the past 5 years, I’ve shared this personal realization with the world inside the pages of Magnetic Sponsoring, and Black Belt Recruiting, helping many self-proclaimed “Betas” discover their “Inner Alpha”.
But these two courses only scratched the surface.
For years, I’ve been dying to create a follow-up to Magnetic Sponsoring that would dive much deeper into this transformational process, and the psychology of leadership.
In fact, I knew exactly what I was going to call this course if I ever had the opportunity to produce it, and even bought the domain 4 years ago… on November 15th, 2006.
But I’ve never been able to put my thoughts about this process into words.
I understood how I felt, and why, as I moved from Beta, to a Pre-Alpha, to Alpha.
I could describe the experience, and the results were apparent to everyone who knew me before, and after, but my personal self-education in psychology wasn’t strong enough to allow me to communicate this process to others in a step-by-step format.
So this knowledge sat there… waiting.
Then a few months ago, my good friend, and mentor Robert introduced me to a friend of his.
His name was Ryan Angelo, and I soon realized that he was a kindred spirit, who had traveled a similar path in life.

Despite the fact that he’s only 29 years old, Ryan has spent most of his adult life, mastering the human mind at a level that most people will never be able to comprehend.

His entire purpose is dedicated to helping others like you, achieve your full potential…
To help you break the limiting thoughts and habits that have been holding you back…
To help you unleash your Inner Alpha and become the leader you want to be.
I knew that if anyone could help me bring “Alpha Networker” to reality, Ryan was the guy.
And so we have.
Only leaders make money in network marketing.
This week is your opportunity to become one.
Stay tuned…
Sincerely,

Mike Dillard

Robot Nails 156.91% In Live Real Money Competition

Filed Under: General Information    by: Web Admin

–> #1 Ranked Forex Robot World Cup (FRWC) Robot At 156.91%
Profjt In Just 11 Days!

–> Soon, The Top Competing EAs Of The FRWC Will Be Available
For Purchase

Many of my subscribers have been steadily following the Forex
Robot World Cup (FRWC)…

Just a small re-cap for those that haven’t:

The FRWC was created with the objective of finding the best
NON-COMMERCIAL Forex robot in the world through a competition
based on solid and transparent rules.

What does non-commercial mean? Simple, robots that are not being
sold or marketed anywhere but are solely used by their
developers.

Hundreds of independent robot developers from all over the globe
joined the FRWC to compete for the #1 Prize… US $100,000 (which
is why the FRWC got the BEST of the BEST robot developers to
participate)!

Now… the competition has two phases, the qualification phase
and the live (real money) trading phase.

As of December 1st, 2009 the live trading phase started with 24
robots out of the 329 submitted during the qualification phase
(which lasted over 2 months!)

Yes… ONLY 24 robots!

Why so few? Simple – the FRWC’s qualification rules are TOUGH!
They have the sole objective of truly having the best of the best
compete… robots that have the potential of not just having good
results for a short period of time…

…but robots that can be consistently profitable over time.

You can view the live (real money) results of the 24 competing
FRWC robots (updates every 15 minutes) here:

…and, by the way, you will also be able to view each robot’s
real money live account statement so you can see each and every
trade it takes as the competition progresses, right through to
the end on Friday, January 29th, 2010.

It is truly exciting to finally see an event designed to
separate truth from hype…

…let me explain.

Once the live phase of the FRWC is over this coming Friday, the
winning robots will be available for purchase (in very small
quantities).

This means one simple thing: THE END OF B.S. ROBOTS IN THE
MARKET!

Once and for all, FX traders will be able to put their hands on
real, PROVEN money making FX robots.

No marketing hype… no cheap sales pitches… just the natural
outcome of the most important automatic FX trading competition,
which YOU can follow live AND verify on a daily basis:

By the way… after almost 2 months of live, real money trading,
the leading robot is at 156.91% profjt!

I don’t know about you, but I have been (and will be) following
this thing on a daily basis until the end :-)

All the best,
Steve

http://www.fapturbo.com

P.S. Remember – this is the biggest and most important FX robot
competition and, for the first time ever, FX traders will have
access to the best of the best “PROVEN in real time”, real-money
robots.

P.P.S. The FRWC decided to release a very limited number of
copies so I recommend that you don’t just follow the competition
closely but also check your inbox regularly for updates on when
the product will be available.

And finally…I’m sorry, what did you say?

Management speak………….

The workplace is full of clichés, buzzwords and industry jargon that often leads to a “disconnect” among co-workers.  A recent survey suggests workplace communication needs to improve as common clichés, buzzwords, and industry jargon are just plain tired.  So is corporate vocabulary making the workplace increasingly incomprehensible?

Management speak

  • Most expressions are not new, but have been around long enough to become accepted.
  • 30% of workers say that they use buzzwords to liven up meetings; 35% use them to show they are in control and more credible.
  • However 40% find such phrases irritating and distracting in meetings; 10% thought frequent users were pretentious and untrustworthy.
  • Fans say it gives a corporate level playing field in the workplace by making people feel part of a tribe; alternatively, it can be used to exclude and confuse others or mask inexperience.
  • In another study, some phrases were found to be so complex that managers themselves didn’t know definitions of terms they used frequently: when asked to define ‘learningorganisation’ ‘chaos theory’ and ‘paradigm’, in most cases they couldn’t, or if they gave a definition it was woefully vague.

Some examples of workplace jargon and definitions:

  • No brainer – an obvious idea
  • BlueSky ideas – fresh thinking
  • Low hanging fruit – the easiest targets
  • Helicopter view – overall view
  • User centric – customer focused
  • Singing from the same hymn sheet  – in agreement
  • Thinking outside the box – taking a different approach
  • Leverage advantage – capitalise upon
  • Win/win situation – keeping everyone happy
  • Paradigm shift – total change

Leaders and followers

Filed Under: General Information    by: Web Admin

Can leaders do it all off their own back (don’t think so) Identify your KEY personnel and motivate….

Leadership – and leadership qualities – are very much in the news at the moment.  Is Blair the right man to lead Europe?  Will it be Cameron or Brown who ultimately leads the next Government? And what are the right qualities in a leader?

Where companies were once able to shape the business environment to suit themselves, in today’s business climate, with its constant changes, the environment demands that they adapt to it.

There are charismatic leaders, there are autocratic leaders, they can be swashbucklers or straight-laced. But at the heart of the leader’s role will always remain a core of key criteria required of leaders regardless of style:

  • Vision

Above all, leaders must focus firmly on the future; it is up to them to set their sights on the horizon, plot the co-ordinates, and encourage everyone else to row.

  • Followership

The one asset all leaders have in common is followers; since leaders can achieve little alone (despite what some would have us believe), they need the support and commitment of others to share and follow through on their vision; to achieve this, leaders must be able to inspire and motivate (as opposed to manipulate) subordinates.

  •  Drive

Research shows that people with greatest leadership potential take action, do not wait to be asked, don’t expect to be spoon-fed, create their own opportunities, and generally push themselves (and their luck?)

  •  Independence

Leaders in the making are not ‘yes’ men or women; they are the ones who are prepared to go against the flow, to take risks, say what they think.

  • Glue

Leaders need to keep a sense of perspective and cohesion, bringing together the resources the organisation needs to get from A to B.

How many leaders focus on themselves our days SELF AWARNESS is important for any leaders…..

As leaders, we all spend an inordinate amount of time focussing on our people, our business, and our customers.  But how many of us actually spend time on ourselves?

Self awareness is an important quality in any leader. People who lead fulfilling, high-achieving work lives explore what really matters most to them, find effective ways to take action and think in a way that makes obstacles work for them.

That all begins with knowing yourself, but what are the reasons why self-awareness is such an important attribute for effective leadership?  When leaders are self-aware they:

  • Know where they want to go: not just at work, but in life generally. This inspires confidence in others as they sense the leader knows what they are doing.
  • Are powerful role models: they’ve got their ‘own act together’, They are able to encourage and show others how to assemble theirs.
  • Take control and responsibility: rather than, for example, looking for others to blame. This means they retain a sense of personal power and potency and believe that the ability to improve things is in their hands.
  • Are open to learning and developing: because they feel comfortable asking for performance feedback from staff, peers, bosses and handling negative criticism.

Are you self aware? Here are some people who weren’t!

COCA-COLA: long-time CFO Douglas Invester served only two and a half years as CEO. He was forced to resign for his insensitive handling of people.

WALT DISNEY: Michael Eisner was board’s golden boy until his ego ended up suffocating his talent.

ENRON: After turning an unspectacular natural gas pipeline firm into a financial powerhouse and winning himself places in several surveys of world’s top managers, Ken Lay went from Wall Street hero to public enemy number one in a few short months in 2002. Accused of displaying psychopathic behaviour, his name is now synonymous with corporate abuse and fraud.

How engaged is your workforce?

Help cushion the blows of Redundancy and motivate the existing staff……

One of the major features of the recent downturn has been the amount of time and effort put into managing redundancies. The recent news from steel manufacturer Corus shows just how devastating a blow it can be on morale.

Many firms have provided outplacement services and redundancy counselling to try and ensure that the impact on those affected is minimised.  This is laudable but what many organisations fail to recognise is the impact on those who remain – the ‘unhappy stayers’.

Read on for some top motivating tips:

Safeway, the retailer paid special attention to keeping staff happy during a year of uncertainty as Morrison’s closed in by:

  • Raising investment in training in answer to more requests, seeing personal development as its best compensation for inability to promise long-term job security
  • Stepping up outplacement help for those who wanted to leave – but used resultant openings to fast-track promotion and job enrichment for others, assisted by the extra training
  • Lining up independent financial advice, for stayers and leavers, recognising money as a top worry
  • Being forward-looking about skills. Career change programmes helped people confront their uncertain future: a surer upholder for happiness than sheltering from it, allowing the firm to hold out for the best possible price from its prospective acquirer.

Though everyone differs in what cheers them up, and how this affects their performance, some spirit-lifting measures work with almost anyone:

  • Give them a purpose: Set them a target that’s meaningful and attainable – but not too easily; they’ve got to believe the work is worth doing, and feel a sense of achievement in doing it as well as was expected.
  • Avoid overwork and overstretch: Even if work is inherently fun, that gets destroyed if you do too much of it; and while it’s nice to be stretched, no-one likes being chronically stressed
  • Involve them in task design: People doing a job are uniquely placed to see how it’s done best – and giving them a hand in its design strengthens their incentive to do it well
  • Group them wisely: Team performance takes off when members buoy themselves up and spur themselves along; watch for pairings that stretch each other’s smiles, pull apart those that deepen the scowls
  • Reward achievement Even a small, non-monetary reward for jobs done well can meet people’s need for recognition, bringing joy that can spark further work improvement
  • Time flexibility, and time off: When asked what would make them happier, 33% of office staff cited a more flexible schedule; more autonomy, variety and a chance to work with others all got 17%
  • Keep them moving forward though it’s tempting to let the ‘stars’ in a job keep on doing it, most will move out if they can’t eventually move up.

Toxic Boss versus Toxic Emloyee!!

Filed Under: General Information    by: Web Admin

Just some tips on work grievences especially if you’re new to Supervision/Management etc……

The toxic boss

Everyone has times when their boss appears to have gone crazy. Usually it is a one-off or temporary condition brought about by office politics or a personal crisis. But what happens when the boss’s behaviour threatens your team, department or even entire company’s survival? What do you do when your boss seems to have crossed the fuzzy line between erratic behaviour and behaviour that is consistently damaging to the company’s interest?
When the boss is out of control
The reason why doesn’t matter; the only goal is damage control with clients, employees, suppliers and to ensure your work and results continue.  Even
in organisations with strong employee counselling programmes, it’s not easy to get the boss to use them as most believe it is only for their ‘staff’, not for them. It’s also difficult to suggest peer or mentor advice to someone who ‘knows everything’

Top tips

  • Prioritise and get on with the work: If a particular project needs to be finished, rally your team to the cause; keep the boss informed and ensure key influencers like HR people and other functional heads are aware of what’s going on.
  • Raise the issue, intelligently: It’s easy to put forward your position when the boss is reasonable or functioning normally; it takes lots more courage to do this when the boss seems off-balance and you will need courage to argue your point reasonably. Action will be remembered favourably by team members and other colleagues, but doing nothing will be seen as weakness later.
  • Instigate contact with boss’s boss: This should be done only when no other strategy has worked. Top management has a substantial stake in your boss (caveat: boss may be top management).  You will have to decide if it  is politically worth it for you to go over your boss’s head. If you do so, couch all discussions in terms of impact on bottom line; stick to facts and don’t make generalist accusations.
  • Control the grapevine: If you’re asked what’s going on, be noncommittal, and don’t give details.
  • Know your time limit: Set a deadline as to how long you will continue working for this person. Consider a transfer elsewhere in the company, or look outside. In the ’80s, seriously impaired bosses were replaced but today the temptation is to get rid of whole unit or team and start over; why wait for that?

And finally…the toxic employee

Last month we had the toxic boss.  This month we have the toxic employee.
Here are our top tips on how to deal with them.

Tackling problem behaviour
For specific behaviours, confront the issues head on:

  • Discuss the problem immediately - overcome awkwardness/disbelief and ask questions that turn vague concerns into solid evidence
  • Focus on behaviour, not personality  – for example: ‘That is not the behaviour we expect of a manager’, vs ‘That is typical of you’
  • Engage in active listening  – this is essential if you wish your own opinion to be heard
  • Ensure employee accepts actions are unacceptablethe aim is understanding, not agreement.
